Job Purpose:
As a Dry Riser Engineer, you will carry out inspections, testing, and repairs of dry riser systems on a wide range of buildings and structures. You will ensure compliance with established industry standards and provide the necessary certification to our clients, all while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspections and Testing: Conduct physical test inspections against agreed work orders from clients, managing multiple jobs each day.
- System Maintenance: Operate and run test pumps, service outlet valves, and apply lubricants as required.
- Reporting: Use standard forms and checklists to produce detailed reports for each site and system tested, facilitating the production of required certifications.
- Remedial Works Identification: Accurately identify any necessary remedial or repair works, leveraging your technical knowledge and understanding of British Standards.
- Documentation: Complete all company paperwork accurately, including job sheets, schedules, and timesheets, and return them promptly to the office-based team.
- Professional Conduct: Perform all work diligently and professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team, communicating professionally with clients, management, and third parties.
- Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and audit vehicles and equipment to a high standard, driving carefully and respectfully at all times.
Job Context / Key Challenges:
This role requires a high level of attention to detail and technical knowledge to ensure all inspections, tests, and repairs meet the necessary standards. Working across various sites and environments, you will need to manage your schedule effectively while maintaining a high level of customer service and safety.
Role Dimensions:
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Service Manager and fellow service engineers to complete tasks efficiently.
- Customer Interaction: Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients and third parties.
Person Profile:
- Experience: Proven hands-on experience in a similar engineering industry (fire suppression, dry or wet risers).
- Qualifications: Relevant technical qualifications.
- Customer Service: Experience in a customer-facing, field-based service environment.
- Skills: Excellent planning, communication (both verbal and written), and organisational skills.
- Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence required.
